Terry Fox School Run

Terry Lives here!

For the 18th year in a row, representing the entire life of our school community, we have participated in the Terry Fox School Run. Today, kids ran, walked, skipped along a predetermined route in support of Terry's Marathon of Hope....a dream started back in the late 70's and culminating with the start of his run in St. John's NFLD in 1980.

The picture accompanying this article shows hundreds of sneakers decorated by students in our school. Each sneaker represents a person in our community of families impacted by cancer.....people who Terry Fox wanted to help.

Terry's message - a burning desire to help others by raising money to support cancer research - still resonates with children as loudly today as it ever has. As a school, we have generated well over $15000 in support of cancer Terry's name.

As a school community, we consider Terry Fox to be a national treasure....a true Canadian hero.
