The beginning of each school year is an exciting time for our Sabrecats. Settling in to a new class is always difficult for all students.
In June, a team consisting of the principal, vice principal, special education resource teachers and classroom teachers develop class lists based on a number of factors to optimize the academic success of all students. There are many factors taken into consideration when class lists are developed. These include the need of the individual child; balance of male and female students; a range of abilities; the number of students in each class; and the special education needs of each class.
Each year, the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board uses the first couple of weeks of September to balance and reorganize classes to meet Ministry of Education class size requirements. Classes might be reorganized due to increased/decreased enrolment.
As with any change, we recognize that your child may take some time to adjust to this reorganization. Our hope is that by working together as a community, your child will settle into a new routine in a short period of time.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
