Celebrating Diversity in Kindergarten!

Happy Lunar New Year

In Mrs. Tavella and Mrs. Latour's JK/SK classroom, our youngest students celebrated our country's diversity with activities centered around the Lunar New Year. Lunar New Year is the first day of a secular, sacred, or other year whose months are coordinated by the cycles of the moon. Students read stories, made several crafts - including Roosters as they learned this is the year of The Red Rooster - and listened to music.

Activities were fun and allowed our kids to learn about a vibrant culture. The students paraded throughout the school displaying their dragon and wearing the masks they had made!
