New School Year Greetings

Good Morning Everyone:
I hope this note finds you all well and that your school routines are slowly settling in after summer vacation. I'd like to thank you all and school staff for making the first days of school so successful for our kids. We have a great school community.
To begin, I'd like to share a few pieces of information with you:
* Our school enrolment projection was exceeded in a big way. We were projected to have 474 kids this year and as of today we have 523. Consequently, many of our classes are large and do not meet Ministry of Education guidelines for class size. We will need to re-organize our classrooms and hire new teachers in order to meet class size expectations. This process has begun and will continue next week. Students who are impacted by this change will receive a letter to take home to explain the change.
* Our Meet the Teacher evening will occur on Thursday, Sept. 28 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Pizza will be available and you will have an opportunity to meet your child(ren)'s teacher(s) and see the classroom. More details will come home in the coming weeks. Looking forward to seeing everyone that evening.
* The first school Mass will also be on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 9:30 am. All family members are welcome! The Mass will be celebrated here at the school.
* Our school's Terry Fox run will happen on Wednesday, Sept. 27 beginning around 9:45 am.
* The first Professional Development Day will be Friday, Sept. 29.
