Dear Parents/Guardians:
Today at 1:25 pm, the Barrie City Police informed me that there had been an armed "hold up" in the area. We were advised to enter into a "Hold and Secure" situation. In this "Hold and Secure" all the children are kept in their classrooms with doors locked...no children are allowed to go outside or leave their classrooms. Doors are locked throughout the building along with our exterior doors. Within 3 minutes this was completed.
At 1:50 pm, the Barrie city police returned and advised us that the "Hold and Secure" could be ended and that our neighbourhood was now considered safe. We ended the "Hold and Secure".
I wanted to update you to ensure that you have the facts and to know that everyone is safe in case you hear of this event over the radio, social media or on television.
