Year End Things

Hello Everyone.....
A beautiful day out there this morning. As I get older, school years seem to go faster and faster...this year has been no exception. It's been a real good year at St. Catherine of Siena.
Here are some updates as we move toward Thursday, June 28 - last day of school for kids:
* Report cards will be coming home today. Please read through them and celebrate them with your kids....some excellent progress has been made!
* Our Dance-a-thon assembly will be held this afternoon...prizes awarded!
* Our year end Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning (10:30 am) at Holy Spirit Church....we will bus the students to and from the church that morning. Please join us if you can.
* Last Thursday evening, June 21 we held our grade 8 graduation. 69 students will be leaving us to attend secondary school. It was a fantastic send off to a special group of students....a huge thank you to our grade 8 staff and Mr. Latour for all their efforts on the evening. We wish our graduates much success.
* As we prepare for next year, if you know that your family will be leaving us, could you please phone Mrs. Forgione and let her know....it really helps with our planning. If you are leaving.... all the best.
* Medication - if your child has medication here at school, we will be sending it home with them on Thursday - unless you contact us to let us know that you'd like to pick it up. Thank you.
* Please continue to make safe arrival calls this week....as Mrs. Forgione and Mrs. Gibbons are still expected to follow up with absences. Thank you.
* Please encourage your kids to check the "lost and found".....there are shoes, shirts etc still there!
* As become tradition here at St. Cat's.....on the last day of school, we line up all our classes in the hallway and we "clap out" our grade 8 students for their final dismissal ....our grade 8 students will walk the upper and lower hallways as they leave our school while the other grades wish them well and "clap them out". We will start this clap out at approximately 3:15 - 3:20 pm.....all grade 8 parents are welcome to attend.
