On Thursday evening Sept. 29, our community came together in tremendous numbers to meet each other and to celebrate the start of a new school year. Pizza, drinks, and sno cones were enjoyed by all! Parents and staff were able to get better acquainted and the lines of communication between home and school were established.
Bev Main and her Youth Ministry team had an information booth set up outlining activities that exist for our students through Holy Spirit Parish. The Scholastic Book Fair was in full operation selling an incredible $4500 worth of reading materials.....our school receives 1/3 of the sales ($1500) to be used to acquire materials for our library. I would like to thank Mrs. Potts and her team of volunteers for organizing.....and thank you for supporting the fair.
A group of our former Sabre Cat students currently enrolled at St. Joan of Arc High School had a bake sale that evening in support of their upcoming Mission trip to India. Approximately $700 was raised for them. We appreciate you supporting these young men and women by purchasing their 'homemade' goods.
All in all the event went off extremely well. A large thank you to our Catholic School Community Council members and JOA student volunteers for their work in organizing. The evening was evidence of the strong Home/School/Parish partnership that exists in our community.
